Yamari is showing me why people
become 'mare people'... she shipped up from KY a few days ago and arrived
barefoot. In the last few days she has just taken everything in with absolute
grace and poise. She stands perfectly on cross ties for grooming, tacking,
clipping, farrier, mane pulling and anything else you want to do. She can be
left alone in the barn with no friends without caring or you can put her next to
rambunctious geldings and she literally just ignores them. She also loads and
hauls well. I trailered her over to Benchmark today for her photos and she was
foot perfect for the entire ordeal. She's very ammy friendly and level headed.
When my geldings are running around acting a fool she just stands there judging
them :)
Ride 1 on Yamari was Saturday when it was a real feel of 20 and the wind
was howling 20 mph. As far as I know she hadn't been ridden since she came off
the track last summer (she's had plenty of let down time). My husband was there
to hold her at the mounting block and I said if she seems nervous or unstettled
at all we will just wait for a better warmer day when it's more fair to ask her
to do this. Well, that wasn't necessary because she stood like a saint at the
block and then went right to work. If a horse is going to be that rational in
those weather conditions then you know you have a good egg.
Yamari has perfectly
clean straight legs and no vices. She has been calm and impeccably behaved in
every situation I've had her in. I absolutely adore her.
Love Yamari is priced
at $6500 and located in Greensboro MD.
